I can’t imagine a more breathtaking option for a proposal in Maine than The Cliff House.
I photographed a winter proposal here and it was amazing. In this post, I’ll go over everything you need to know about getting engaged here. You’ll also get to see images from a stunning winter proposal.
Feel free to jump to the full gallery to see all the photos! Keep scrolling for my key tips on getting engaged here.
I arrived at Cliff House Maine feeling nervous and excited. The scenery was beautiful and set the stage perfectly for what was about to come. Michael was proposing to his long term girlfriend – and I was going to capture it!
I found my hiding place. It was an open terrace that I found a few weeks before. I watched the two of them come out of the restaurant and head to the rocks.
My heart beat as Michael got down on one knee and… snap. I had gotten the shot!
You have a few different options for your proposal at Cliff house Maine. The property has beautiful Cliffs, a lawn that looks over the Ogunquit beach, and a large terrace above the ocean.
Additionally, they are always excited to help their guests make memories. If you get in contact with their front desk before your proposal, then they will send over some helpful recommendations!
Their team will send over a map of the property with the different areas for the best photography. They also have a list of suggested local photographers and some spots that are close to the hotel.
Just be sure to get in touch ahead of time as all professional photography plans have to be pre-appoved.
Again, all photography plans should be pre-approved ahead of time! Give the Cliff House a call and they will direct you.
As with any important moment, have a photographer present will be well worth it! But how do you choose someone your trust?
Finding someone that has shot at your location before is helpful! I actually had not shot at the Cliff house prior to this proposal, but I always do a venue tour when I don’t know the space.
A week before the proposal, I drove to the Cliff House to check the scenery and lighting. This helped us gat amazing shots the day of the proposal!
If you are interested in chatting with someone local who is familiar with Cliff House, then don’t hesitate to reach out! Head over to my booking page and send me an email.
